Sunshine ... is the counseling cell of Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad. The sunshine group has launched the student mentorship programme at IITH which is aimed at orientating the new students at IITH.
The sunshine group has conducted various events like Ice Breakers, Queen of Sheeba, Amazing Race....to promote interaction among the fresher’s. Various creative games were conducted in the ice breakers event. Queen of Sheeba was the best event to be conducted under the banner of Sunshine, this event along with Amazing Race helped the fresher’s to get acquainted with the surroundings of IITH. Fresher’s night is another huge event to be organized by the Sunshine Team.
One on one sessions have been organized in view of recognizing problems faced by freshers and coming up with suitable solutions. Students were called individually and their problems were discussed thoroughly with their respective mentors. Spoken English sessions were also conducted for students who were facing difficulties in understanding the lectures. It is a wonderful effort by the mentors to take up the responsibility of conducting such sessions.
